About ROVE
ROVE (伴山滑雪 in Chinese) is a free snow tool for skiers and snowboarders in North America. It covers 644 ski resorts in the US and Canada with 15-day snow forecasts, a published forecast accuracy record for each resort, lift and trail status, webcams and road conditions.
ROVE was started by Chufan Shi in Los Angeles, California. It is available on the web at rove-ski.com, as the WeChat mini program 伴山滑雪, and as an iOS app in the US.
Where the data comes from
Forecasts combine Open-Meteo models with the National Weather Service in the US. Accuracy is scored against SNOTEL and other snow stations near each resort. Lift status comes from resort websites and OnTheSnow, road conditions in California from Caltrans. Each resort page lists its sources and the time of the last update.
Cost
ROVE is free for skiers. It does not sell lift tickets or handle payments.
